Moss has been through a lot in his life, yet come out of it a kind and gentle heart still. His parents died when he was a baby and he was raised by his grandmothers. He was severely bullied through his childhood by other kids, though his grandmothers did their best to keep him from falling into a depression. This all changed when his first grandmother passed when he was 15, and the other followed soon after when he was 17. He dropped out of school at that time and fell into a slump for many years until he met Jaelynn, who introduced him to a positive outlet in witchcraft. Not long after he met Solomon, and they became friends.

Moss fell into relationship after relationship seeking affection and attachment, but ultimately found himself used and thrown away. One ex in particular had it out for him and attempted to murder him, leaving Moss with the scars he so loathes. He now hedges on 30 with little in the way of family or friends, and has resigned himself to be humanity's watcher, keeping close tabs on the Light family specifically. He's grown somewhat close to Drake over time, and the two seem to know a bit more about Dead End than they should...
